Hi all
I'm currently using an Asus P8Z77-M PRO Z77 with 8gb RAM, a Gainward GTX 970 Phantom and an Intel 3570k but now with DDR4 out along with the Z97 chipsets and whatnot I'm starting to feel a little dated.
is all of this new tech [strike]going to change my life forever and ensure that I never leave my house and become a hermit[/strike] worth investing in or should a wait? I'd be looking at getting new RAM, CPU and a motherboard. I'm using a 750w corsair PSU which is relatively new so I will not be needing a new one.
I'm still hugely biased (probably wrongly) against AMD parts and would like to avoid them if possible.
I use my PC for work (excel and word mainly), occasional image/video editing and gaming (things like Arma 3 and whatever floats up on steam that I find interesting).
Cost is obviously a factor but it's not really a problem although I'd like my spending to be justified in future proofing and performance, not because it's awesome and shiny (although it totally helps).
I'm not big on asking people to recommend stuff for me but if I'm going to be honest I have no idea about newer computer components as I've not kept up to date on much since I've started my new job, therefore all recommendations are welcome. Thanks!
