Network adapter missing after restarts and reinstall of Windows 7.

Network adapter continues to come up missing. We have uninstalled W7 and reinstalled it. I have installed new drivers several times. But after prolonged shutdown or restart for updates it comes up missing most of the time. When I go to device mgr it is not there most of the time. When it is there and computer says it is missing I uninstall the adapter and let computer reinstall the adapter. But if it is missing from Device mgr screen I cannot reinstall. Been having this problem for over year now. Is it W7? or is it a Dell Problem?

Thanks but drivers have been uninstalled and reinstalled updated drivers. The network adapter still comes up missing about half the time. Already uninstalled W7 twice and reinstalled. I believe this is a Windows 7 issue and really disappointed in MS

This adapter is installed with Windows 7 and is not a stand alone adapter able to be plugged in. It works off of a driver which I have installed and updated several times. I have uninstalled W7 twice also.
