So basically this is the beeping noise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvO8PGX6r-Y&feature=youtu.be

Excuse potato cell phone quality but hopefully it gets the point across. In this video I am holding my phone up to my headset earpiece. The beeping is in the audio signal, not coming from the case. It isn't always this regular, sometimes there are intervals. It always stops immediately when I alt+tab. I've experienced this in following games:

Dota 2 - rarely
H1Z1 - all the time, almost always, makes game unplayable
CSGO - rarely
New GoT Telltale game - always 100% of the time makes game unplayable
Chivalry - never
smite - rarely

Anyway I've mucked about with audio settings, I've found no consistency between when it does or doesn't happen. It's also been an issue across 2 headsets, one wired and one wireless.

I tried updating my audio drivers via the device manager, no luck.

PC specs as follows:
CPU: i7 3770k - no OC
GPU: gtx 670
MOBO: MSI Z77A-GD65
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
Realtek HD audio driver 6.0.1.6823 (Using onboard audio - no sound card)

My hunch is that it's my Mobo...any input guys?

Thanks!!

Solution
Your bios may contain a health section which contains a CPU warning which will beep when the temperature is too high for your CPU.
I suggest checking temperature of CPU.

Hi thanks for your input.

Good idea about the source of the beeping. However I doubt this is my issue, I have a cpu cooler (h100i) and also monitor my CPU temps on a 2nd monitor using All cpu meter gadget. Normally the hottest it gets, or at least the hottest that the gadget ever shows is around 50-60C, usually around 40-50C. I haven't experienced blue screens or shut-downs either.

Maybe I will keep coretemp or cpu-z running next time I game and monitor their temp readings as well.
