Hi,

I am looking for support.

I have two Netgear WNDR3400 wireless routers. The base router v1 version is setup and working fine. No problem. I want to use the second router v2 version to be a repeater using the 5GHz band and am not able to set it up.

The base router Security option for the 5Hhz band is set to WPA2-PSK (AES). It states that for the Repeater function you must use WEP or NONE. I do not have an option for WEP shown and I do not want to use NONE. How do I set up the base router to allow the Wireless Repeater function with WEP security on the 5GHz band?

Second question is how do I log-in into the router to be used as the repeater to configure it?

Thank you Jim

For yout first question, you need to change the mode of you 5GHz network to "Up to 54Mbps". This will make the WEP security selection available. Unfortunately you are not able to use WPA security for the repeater function on the the WNDR3400 - at least not from what I have been able to find (I am in the same situation as you.) I have read that you need a v3 and above router to use WPA for repeating but I don't know how to tell what is v3 or above.

I am not sure I understand your second question
