Hello there, My tax return is a lot more then what I thought it would be. So I thought about finally upgrading from a 2GB 770. Which got me thinking about either a 970 or a 980. But while I was researching those cards, I seen the "bug" or "flaw" with the 970 and the only usage 3.5GB or ram. That has me worried a bit, Is that something that can be fixed in software or is that sending for a replacement in the future. I know, Questions no one currently has a real answer for. But any way, My current rig specs are below. I know this term is a bad one but, Is dual 970's better than a single 980. When trying to future proof a build? I am also aware I will need a new power supply. I am currently gaming at 1080p. So I know dual 970's is kinda over kill. But for once I wanna be the guy with the awesome build.

Is there any factual truth to the ram issue?

Well then, that's a flaw I haven't heard, but now I know :) But he did say his own card didn't have the issue, which is weird. All cards have their own issue, there is no perfect card, that's how they make their money, so it's always a risk and gamble. Plus if you game on 1080p right now, you wouldn't even use up to 3GB, a single 970 can give you max settings on 1080p.

If I did take the jump and do an SLI 970 set up, Would this PSU be ok? And I am sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. Just trying to get the most for the money now.
