I installed the new graphics card earlier tonight.
I had to move the hard drive to give me room.
However, after I installed the driver, I decided to try out a
game. It had only just started when the PC lost all power.
I tried switching it on again but nothing was happening.
The power cable works as I now have it hooked on my old pc.
Is it likely to be the power unit?

Update.
I connected the connector to the card and I connected one of the two connectors to the power unit. Wasn't sure which one to use as they looked both the same.

Solution

They both need to be connected... 2 x P4 connectors to make one 6 pin pci-e connector.

Let me know how that goes

My PSU had only 1 free connector and my graphics card had 2 connectors coming from it. I checked online and most advise consisted of talking about it being an old psu if it only has one free connector. I was also worried that the PSU had blown and so I bought a new one. Connected the card to the psu fine and it works a treat. Cost me an extra £22. Many thanks for your help
