Dell inspiron 1545. No ethernet controller driver, can't connect to wired internet.

I've tried re installing all the drivers, but it still won't show up in device managers. I don't know what else to do.

When I try to go wired the computer doesn't detect anything, but wireless works fine

No noticeable changes. I still have my wireless adapter under network adapters in device manager. Still no wired ethernet controller. I'm 100% that the cable works.

Even when i went to dell to download the driver I need, once downloaded it still hasn't shown up in device manager.
