Hey guys new to computer hardware, fairly proficient with software, and just have a couple of questions. I just bought an Asus rog g750 with 12 gigs of ram and a 1tb hard drive. I haven't gotten it yet, and already planning the upgrades.
1. I am getting a ssd with win7. Should I dual boot, or replace win 8, and is it possible to have two computers in one. I would like to have it set up so I can do all my school work/gaming/AutoCAD/solid works on the ssd and leave win8 for "internet browsing" and just general computer use so I can keep that ssd nice and clean. Win 8 will be in the primary slot, how do I go about making the ssd primary and 8 secondary. Two is there a way to hide the HDD when I am using the ssd. Just so if I'm doing a presentation, or let someone borrow my computer in class, they can't search though all my files. I mean making a chain of 15 folders is fun and all but... You get the point.
2. I know computers don't like 12 GB of ram, as the best set up is along the 512mb,1gb,2gb,4gb,8gb,16gb,32gb. When you don't go along the multiples, the preformace is not what mathematical is should be... yes? So I have a 4gb ddr3, 1.5v from the old machine and wondering if I can just throw it in there and go? The rog is 1.35v.
Just need some general info, tutorials would be awesome.
Ps. Win 7 will be on the ssd, prior to install.
Thanks guys

Do not mix 1.35v and 1.5v. It can work but it might require some settings done in the BIOS so the choice is yours.

I don't see the benefit of using Dual boot Win 7 and Win8. You can do all the tasks in either one of them. If you are purchasing Win8 then i'd suggest you to go with Win7 as a new Windows will be released later this year.
