Hello all,

I am a new user to tomshardware, but have read many helpful threads when I am having pc issues.
However I am having issues with my computer freezing(everything on the screen remains on), and a sound loop of the last .5 seconds. My computer freezes up in a game of cs: go at least once every 30 minutes. After it freezes I force a shut down(holding power down) and turn it back on to get it going again.

My computer does not freeze up outside of game play though.
Is this an issue with the graphics card?

I have already ran RAM and hard drive tests and they came back perfect.
Please help!

Thank you in advance,

OKay a few things;

Does this happen in SINGLE PLAYER mode? If only when online it may be more a issue with your PC connecting to the world and we can focus on that one way ot other.

Secondly your GTX 460 is a SERIOUS PROBLEM. You have all high end other parts then they come to this ancient low end GPU and CHOKE all the data trying to be processed with it. I would HIGHLY recommend, CSGO or otherwise, that you should grab a more capable CPU, like a 660, 970, 780 or such (always x60, x70 or x80 are gaming ones but that 460 isn't even supported by NVIDIA).

That said let's do some basics:

Did you install all Windows Updates? Including OPTIONAL except BING? Check them and repeat till ALL are installed.

Download and run Slim...

Download and run Slim Drivers, install all the latest updates but you don't need to reboot until you do the last update

Download Malwarebytes do a full system scan (AV doesn't pick up alot of malware) - this resolved almost ALL other similiar posts to date as most had Malware the AV didn't pick up.

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download AVIRA, AVG, Comodo or Panda and do a full system scan - this repeatedly has resolved alot of people issue relying on MS Essentials.
Repeat the AV/Malware scans till the system comes up clean.

Download and run SPECCY, copy and paste the first tab to show your idle temps
Download and run MSI Afterburner, setup to show specs under the OSD so they appear 'in game' then run some of the games that run poor, what temps are you getting when underload?
With MSI Afterburner Do you see anything funny that the CPU or other parts are maxing out (we are testing here not trying to WIN at the games, so if your screen is filled with readouts then just deal as we are just observing).
Do you see this 'FREEZE' problem when in SOLO MODE? Only when Multiplayer?

Open Computer, Can Air dust out the bunnies and use paint brush on the vents, coolers, fans, etc. to make sure nothing is clogging up the works OR worse causing overheating.

Go through and provide a response on each point, don't SKIP IT because "I ALREADY DID IT" , just try doing it again as of THIS post so we know NOW what is happening as compared to BEFORE you posted.
