Hi, I am looking to build a beast rig that can play new games in 4k on three monitors, I am not even sure if this is posible, but want to know if this can be done. And price isn't really an object.

Thanks in advance,
Matt

970s/980s is more for lower resolutions like 1080p and 1440p, 295x2 is solely built for 4k purposes. Also, it is not possible to have more than 2x 295x2 in the PC, too much power is needed and there's only 1 mobo for 2x 24 pin connectors from the PSUs, unless there's a 3000w PSU out there no one knows about. If there was, I'd already have had 4x 295x2 in my PC already. So right now 3x 4k monitors is not possible for any GPU, not 295x2, Titan Z, 970, or 980. Unless you wanna play/move at the pace of 10 to maybe a max of 30 frames.

You could just get my build if money is no issue, except for some things are unnecessary, so maybe a max of $5,000 for you. You can still 4k ultra everything on 1 display if that's satisfying enough :) But...

you can only crossfire well if you 3 sli a r9 295x that is equal to 6 r9 290x

is it even possible to 3 sli r9 295x2? im guessing you need 2000 watts power supply and its own air conditioning unit to run that monster.

of course that is 4 gpus against 2 gpus.

how bout 4 gtx 980 against 2 r9 295x2 to be fair - lets see the results.

i'm leaning more on the gtx 980...

Not that you need it with 4k, it is already as real as it can get :D

Yeah, why do you think they make these cards? Because most people are still at 1080p and 1440p, so why make a card solely for 4k or more toward 4k if that's not the place where everyone is at, it's all about them making money :)

Yup, this is all for gaming only, pretty much everything I have is unnecessary, I just bought them because they "look" cool. Such as the mobo, I bought it just because it is black and red, I bought the i7 5930k because it sounds cool. I bought the 295x2 because it has red lights, it has liquid cooling, and it is a sexy looking card. I bought the 32GB of RAM because 32 is an interesting number and I like the black color, lol, so that's how I buy my stuff, not just pure performance.

Or you could go with LGA 2011-r3 w/ the i7-5960x and have two 1500 watt PSU's in a case(i.e 900D) that supports it. That would allow 4, BUT Software limitations apparently. Also, you would HAVE to have a custom loop to keep that from overheating during POST.

lol, funny how a single person can think of this and the entire AMD customer service can't. How is this thing going to work anyways?

Hmm, very interesting, if this works, I'm getting 2 more 295x2, lol.

hi, thank you for all of the replys, i got the toms hardware extension for chrome, and forgot to sign in...lol, i am probably going to build my own case out of plastic sheeting (http://www.lairdplastics.com/product/brands/sintra/267-sintrar). i like the 2 psu and 4 295x2's. i was also wondering if i could build a computer with 2 mb's (effectively dasychain 2 computers) and run 4k that way...i don't think that this is possible, but would love to hear your guys opinions.

I honestly dont think you can game with 4 295X2s in a system, certainly not with all of them simply due to driver support.

crossfire supports up to 4GPU's, each 295X2 has 2 GPU's on them, so with 4 you would have 8.

I think you are planning a TOTAL overkill build, get 2 295X2's and be happy! (Even that is total overkill btw)

yeah, as i have been looking into it more, i am thinking that i can do 2 4k displays, so that will be a bit cheaper.
