Pro is category of windows 8.1(Like how we have windows 7 Basic/Premium/Professional/Ultimate). OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. To be short, OEM operating systems can be installed in only one PC. You can reinstall the OS how many times you want in that particular machine. Windows gets activated based on your motherboard information. So when you change your motherboard, you need to purchase a new copy of windows. Retail Vesions are the ones which are registered to your name and you can use it in your future builds also. Unfortunately, Microsoft has stopped releasing Retail Operating systems i guess because i am not able to fine retail edition DVDs in Newegg and Amazon.
