I am currently trying to build a new PC. I'm stuck between 2 different graphics card. I need a second opinion between these two. Should I go with a older r9 295x in crossfire which would in a way mean 4 gpus or newer gtx 980 in sli. This is completely disregarding price even though the price of the 295x2 went down. I would like the most performance for my money in regards to pure gaming on high resolutions. Lastly please let me know why you would pick one over the other and my CPU is going to be intel 4790k, will those two configs bottleneck that CPU? Thanks for your help and input. I appreciate it.

R9 295X is 2 complete tiers higher than the 980. Since it's one-for-one higher performing than the 980, 2 in CrossFire will still beat a pair of 980s in SLI.
If for some reason it bugs you to have "four" GPUs, then just get a GTX 690 or HD 7990 (both of which occupy the tier between the 980 & the R9 295X).
