So I have no idea about how to install an SSD. I think I need to backup my files from my C drive (in my case, I'm using dropbox for this). Reboot, configure boot drive (?) to AHCI mode (I think) Then I wipe my hard drive that had the now backed up stuff in there, take it out of the bay, put in the SSD to a separate bay, put in SATA connector, etc. Then I boot from my Windows 7 disc, set the SSD as the boot drive, and then put my hard drive back in, and then... I don't know what happens next, I may be wrong about this whole process, but some guidance would be much appreciated.

Mostly, but a bit of wrong sequence.

Save anything critical elsewhere. External drive, DropBox, whatever. Be sure this includes all your username/passwords, Favorites, etc, etc.

Boot, and verify ACHI mode in the BIOS
Disconnect all drives but the DVD
Connect the SSD
Boot and boot from the Windows install DVD
Install to the SSD
Once it is installed, change the boot order to SSD first
Now let Windows do all its updates
Once that is done and everything is running to your satisfaction....now you reconnect the old HDD
Recover your personal files from wherever you saved them.
Install all your applications. SOme/most on the SSD, some of the HDD if you want.
After a few days..now you think about wiping the HDD (because there will be...
