I'm not sure, last I heard was broadwell cpu's for desktops would be limited to the 2011 socket (x99's). It was supposed to come out already, then got pushed back on top of skylake's release. Intel didn't even want to bother with broadwell at all for desktops, so it's been a bit up in the air. They're going ahead with skylake (which will be a new socket/motherboard from haswell/broadwell). Unless you're looking to go with lga 2011/x99 and extreme edition i7's (6-8 core) with ddr4, I'd either get the haswell now or wait and plan a build around skylake which is supposed to be 2nd quarter of this year. (sometime between april and june, though i'd guess closer to june).
