I recently build my gaming PC and everything is running smoothly. The only question I have is why my HDD is not being recognized by the PC. I did my first boot up on my SSD and just connected my HDD. In the BIOS, it recognizes that there is a HDD but in the OS it doesn't show up. Do I have to install something from the BIOS?

Thanks

Is the 2nd hard drive a brand new one? If so Windows probably needs to initialize it so you can create a new simple volume.

Click Desktop tile from the Start screen to go to the desktop.

Once on the desktop screen, press Windows + R keys simultaneously to initiate the Run command box.

On the Run command box, in the available field, type COMPMGMT.MSC command and press Enter key.

On the opened Computer Management snap-in, click to select Disk Management under Storage category from the left pane.

From the lower half section of the right pane, right-click Disk 1 that represents the second hard disk drive attached to the computer.

From the displayed context menu, click Online.

Once done, right-click the unallocated disk space in order...

This is assuming that its a "New HDD"

Thanks, and yes, this is a new hard drive. I plan on putting all my music, movies, games, etc. on it. I just use the SSD for OS and a couple games.

Should I choose GPT or MPR?

sorry my bad i got those reversed you need to do it in MBR

2tb and under MBR (master boot record)
2tb and over GPD (GUID Partition Table)

yes just follow the same steps only this time when you right click on the drive just delete the partition, it will say unallocated space, then just right click again and select format and go through the same process over agian only choose MBR, no harm will befall your drive unless you have put data on it already. if you have data on it, it will wipe it out. so just move it onto your C/drive temporarily, format the data drive then move it back on
