I have a dell Inspiron 15R SE 7520. Sometimes the wifi gets so weak that I cannot open a webpage and it doesnt load and downloads go down to 00kb/s.

At the same time my Mac book pro 2011 has no problems whatsoever and it is on the same network.

My OnePlus One phone has no issues either and my roommates 15" Mac book pro doesn't have any problems.

I have the latest network card on my laptop.

Should I buy a wireless USB adapter and see if the problem persists? It is very annoying since I use my dell as my main PC.

What else could be the issue? I don't really have this problem when I go home but I seem to have it here at college

Solution
If you updated the wireless driver then you might need to buy a wireless usb adapter. Also try taking all other devices off the wifi and see if the speeds increase (http://www.speedtest.net/). Your wireless routers location might also play a part in it

If USB adapter fixes the issue then you might be dealing with an incompatibility with your laptop's wireless card and the college's routers. You can get a new wireless card for cheap on eBay and replace the one in your laptop if that proves to be the case.
