Hello,

The Problem -

About a year I ago I started to hear a high-pitched noise comping from my computer when playing games or running some more resource heavy programs. The sound persisted until I turned the game off or until the PC decided it had enough and just shut itself down. After some time I found out I could fix this by decreasing my CPU processing speed from 1400-3600 MHz to 1400-2500 MHz in the AMD Catalyst Centre.

So now, about 6 months latter, I can again hear the high pitched noise, not as loud but its there. The difference is that the source of the sounds now seems to also be tied to the movements of my mouse and keyboard and when setting the power plan to high performance, which in turn creates the loudest noise out of them all.

I have looked at many threads about similar things, but usually they have only one of these problems and mostly non I could find had the part where the PC would just shut it self down.

Solutions I've tried -

  • I have replaced the Power Supply, which did not seem to change anything and actually burned down a few moths ago (now I have the old one installed).

Replaced the thermal paste. Also didn't seem to change anything
