Mac based Seagate Hard Drive wont pick up on LG TV

Hey guys
I have a 1TG Seagate Back up plus Slim hard drive, formatted to suit my Mac. I have put files onto it in all different types, .iso, .avi, .jpg etc. when i plug it into my LG tv it detects nothing at all on the hard drive. Ive tried so much different stuff and really need help!

Phillip is right! You need to reformat your external hard drive in order to use it on your TV as well.
Before doing that you need to backup your data from the drive, because reformatting and changing the file system will erase your files.
My guess is you need to reformat the drive in FAT32 because it's the most widely recognized format and should work on any device, including Windows, Mac and your TV (most probably). The only downside of this file system is that you cannot transfer files bigger than 4GB at a time.

I tried that procedure and it says it cannot unmount the hard drive therefore cant do the format?
