I am running my i7 4790k at 4.4 GHZ 1.2V (I know, I'm new to OCing and wanted to keep the voltage a little high for now to be safe) and get temps around 28-33C at idle and 57-61C at full load. When I was seating cooler I rubbed it a bit against a cable and some of the thermal compound (pre-applied) smudged. Should i reseat it now or be happy with what I got? Thanks

Solution
Basically the same temps as mine, using a NH-D14 cpu cooler and in a normal 20ºC day. You're totally fine.
Edit: Actually, what CPU cooler are you using? Because my cpu is at 4.0ghz, about 1.08v, and almost the same temps as your 1.2v, which is pretty good.

I find myself my temps very high while rendering videos .. at stock speeds ...Tried to put my corsair cooler in all the possible positions and still have high temps.

I start to believe that my cooler doesn`t sit right on the CPU since the paste doesn`t spread on all corners of the CPU like it should but i still can`t find why. Backplate is in the correct position etc...

I am using Corsair's h100i, are you getting these numbers with a stock cooler. I get these values with both a cpu and memory burn.
