i5-3340M and Intel HD 4000 or i5-4200U and Intel HD 4400 and Nvidia Geforce 820M 2Gb? Which system is better for HD video editing (basic cut, stitch, subtitles, etc.) and Photosop? Or in other words, which one is better - a 3rd gen high performance i5 CPU with a single graphic card (the Intel HD shared card) or a 4th gen low performance i5 CPU with two graphic cards (the Intel HD shared card and a dedicated Nvidia card)?

Solution
The i7 will beat the other two in CPU tasks, which is what you're after. The GPU will not have a huge impact if you're not gaming.

Though some applications will use GPU acceleration, ALL of them use the CPU, so go with the most powerful you can get.

If you're gaming, the Intel 4400 is a good choice because it can have dual channel memory, which is better than the 820m's 64bit bus.

Or...there is even a third option: Intel Core i7-2760QM and Intel HD 3000 combo. The i7 2nd gen is much better than the i5 4th gen mentioned by me. but the Intel HD 4400 is better than the Intel HD 3000. So, which combo will be the best for my needs?
