Greetings,
New external drive provides transfer to exfat video folders up to 45 GB when he actually 2TB
Formatted it to ntfs and again does not allow more than 45 GB
After connecting the laptop shows me REW
What can be done to copy files to many over 45GB?
And constantly seeks Format
Thanks

Hey smillypm. It sounds a bit like you might have gotten a faulty drive. But before we jump to conclusions I'd recommend that you try it with a different computer first to see if the same thing happens, you should also try it with a different USB cable (not longer than 12"). Other than that, I'd recommend that you download the manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive with it to see if it shows anything alarming.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.
Sorry for the late response.
After some time, I still have this problem.
I be glad if you contact their customer support and ask about it.
Meanwhile I tried to use the software - Mini tool partition - to test the outer disk. Test time takes a lot of time and still no answer and response. Once I feel I will answer here.
Yours,
Dashiella

Hi again, Dashiella.

I'm sorry, but I can do that for you, because after all, I'm a Western Digital representative. What I can do however, is give you this article, which has updated links for both branded and 3rd party HDD diagnostic tools, which should be helpful, when it comes to finding the one you need or pick a 3rd party one as well, so that you can double check your drive: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/tophddiag.htm

Cheers,
