Hey everyone,

I have one of my monitors extended to my TV. My audio is coming out from my computer speakers. I would like to see if it is possible to A) either control the volume on my computer from my TV remote. I have an LG TV and a Comcast remote. or, B) Somehow transfer the volume settings from my computer to my TV using a hotkey or something. I could live with that too. My TV is plugged into display-port on my video card so it should be able to carry audio.

I use a Philips TV/Monitor and the old vga port is plugged onto the tv. I guess in your case you'd have to use the 'a/v in' of your tv to connect an amplifier(I use one too) to the tv. My amplifier has both in and out connections, I'm using the 'in' one to plug my pc's onboard sound to it and the 'out' is using an adapter cable to connect my headset into the end of it, this is the one you'd have to plug into your tv's 'a/v' connection.

i7 4770k processor
MSI Z87-G55 Motherboard
16GB DDR3 G. Skill RipJaws 2400MHz
R9 280X
120GB Samsung 840 Pro
6TB Additional HDD Space
Cooler Master 922 HAF Case

I think, I will have to double check when I get home that the TV is a LG LN 5100 50" 1080p 120Hz LED HDTV.

It only has an optical out port on the TV, no RCA, WTF!?

I use a mini display port active adapter to HDMI for the connection to the TV. I use external speakers PC speakers for PC audio sound.
