The title says it all. I have set a user defined fan curve in AB, but it will only raise the fan speed if I manually open the program. Id'e rather not have it start with windows unless there is no other way. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

What version of AB are you using? The newest version is: v4.1.0.7013. If you already have this version installed and the fan settings in-place, I'm not sure what else may be preventing your setup from running as advertised per your settings. Perhaps, doing an uninstall and reninstall of AB and try it again perhaps.

I've found some interesting reads as well... I'm not sure what GPU you have, but in the case of the MSI GTX 970 (for example) there have been official MSI BIOS updates released to "fix" fan issues with first/early release versions. These "fixes" have also apparently addressed those who were having fan profile issues in AB. The attached is just an example...

Try to check the box 'Apply overclock on system startup' (Or something similar) on the first screen.
Even though it says overclocking, I think it's just a setting that applies all changes in the program during system bootup.

I do have the box checked because I have my card overclocked and that setting works fine. Its just the fan control that doesn't work, and im sorry iamlegend, do you mean have it open all the time or just when my setting are applied?

Ensure you have "enable user defined software automatic fan control" checked, in the FAN tab of "Settings". I have my fan bar-graph customized in this tab, btw. In the main AB window, I have Fan Speed "auto" ON and idle sitting at 40%, as I like my GPU fans on constant.

When I set this up, I hit "apply", then hit "save", the hit profile "1" (as it's the only profile I have) and clicked on "apply oc at system startup" and that's it.

This will allow my custom fan setting to run at windows start without having to do anything else, as AB will load when windows boots...

As long as the OP is only adjusting fan settings, there should be no issues, as OC'ing is not the issue unless I've misread the post?

Hello there... Make sure you have your AB settings in-place as you prefer, then ensure you click on Apply, then Save and make sure the Padlock icon is in the "locked" position and click on the Apply OC at system startup. This will ensure AB loads on OS startup.

If you've already done this, I'm not sure what the issue might be, other than maybe adding AB to your "Startup" folder, so it will load when your OS does, allowing AB to load so you don't have to manually... Your fan settings should (should) still be intact, if you follow or already have done the 1st paragraph steps.
