Hi guys,

I've been really targeting to buy a new system this year since my i5-2500 is gonna be a little outdated any time soon and so here's the specs of the PC I'm going to build:

CPU - Intel Core i5-4690 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor - $210
CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212X - $35
Motherboard - Asus-H97 Pro Gamer LGA1150 - $100
Memory - Kingston Savage 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 - $75
SSD - Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive - $70
HDD - Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM - $130
Video Card - MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Twin Frozr V - $350
Case - NZXT Phantom ATX Full Tower Case - $110
Power Supply - SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze Fully-Modular ATX - $60
Total - $1140

Now, I do have a lot of questions regarding what would be the best monitor and mobo for this setup, as you can see I have listed the Asus H97 Pro Gamer since I'm kind of considering it now. I am not gonna be doing any overclocking so I think that would suffice but if there would be better boards out there, I do appreciate the suggestion.

Regarding the monitor, tbh I'm not really a hardcore gamer, games I play would be NBA 2k15, Need For Speed, RPG's such as Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, Batman, etc. I do need an expert opinion whether I should be getting a 144Hz monitor, I checked reviews and heard a lot of positive things about it but it's kind of too expensive for me. Honestly, I haven't seen it in actuality pertaining to performance, and since I think the only fastpaced game I'm gonna be playing would be racing games, so is it really recommended? On a sidenote, I also like to watch movies so I also thought an IPS Panel would be good, don't know much about that either.

Also this thread is very open to suggestions and any recommendations you can advise regarding the specs listed especially the mobo, if ever there would be a better brand or if I need a higher tier component. Except the CPU and Video Card, I think I'm already good with that.

For example: In the Memory spec, if you think G. Skill would be a better choice than Kingston then just state the reason.

P.S. I would really love to hear your opinion regarding this build, whether it be bad or good, also if any spec would be incompatible.

Thanks so much guys!

Thanks for the recommendation bro, looks nice for a $130 monitor. definitely gonna consider this one, just hope it will be available in my area.

As for the cooler, i've used stock cpu coolers before but since room temp here gets a little bit high, i might still need it. i do believe it's the best bang for the buck cooler.
