Hello,

I want to buy one of these two video cards. But in my country the difference of price is about 50$ and i dont know if it worth it.
And I dont understand why the 270x is better at :

Frequency 1020 MHz vs 850 MHz
GPU Boost clock 1070 MHz vs 940 MHz
Pixel Fill Rate 32000 MPixels/sec vs 26500 MPixels/sec
Effective Memory Clock 5600 MHz vs 5000 MHz

And here are the parts at which the 280x is better:

Texture Fill Rate 92600 MTexels/sec vs 80000 MTexels/sec
Texture Units 112 vs 80
Number of transistors 4313 milioane vs 2800 milioane
Stream Processors 1792 vs 1280

and the obvious :

Memory 3072 MB vs 2048 MB
BUS memory 384 bit vs 256 bit

My question is if its worth paying with $50 more for the 280. I would prefer to pay less but if it will make a big difference in the games I can squeeze my wallet for the extra $50.

Thank you.

Solution
You are going to see about a 3-5 fps improvement with the 280 over most games. The extra Vram is nice too.
You have to ask if that is with $50 to you. Both good cards.

From what I can see the difference is between 3-4 fps per game, between these two. What really seems to be the a real good option is the 280X. But its more expensive.

You reference both the 280 and 280x, which one?
For $50 the 280x is worth it in my opinion.
If it is a 280, maybe not.

The 280 will give a boost at 1080p over the 270x.

All three will play well at 1080p, depends on your resolution you are using and your expectations.

270x vs 280.

I have and 23 inch monitor at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

At an 1920x1080 resolution, the extra vram is quite useless. You wont be using it except video editing and streaming. Even though, if it fits in your budget, you are better off buying the 280x. Get one from asus or sapphire. Others are quite crappy.
