For the past month or two I've had this problem where my PC freeze up and loops the last sound that was played. Sometimes it'll come back, only to freeze again within a second. The games this have happened with so far are PAYDAY 2 and Ziggurat. No other games. I run these on max settings, but I can do that with tons of games with no problem. Another thing to note is when it happens in Payday, a lot of the time it's in the menus. If I manage to close the game, 80% of the time it won't fix anything and I have to completely restart my PC. I've not had a BSOD once on this PC, by the way. Also, during these freezes or around them my fan does not start up and my PC doesn't get hot.

Here are my specs:

Solution
When this happens go into your event viewer afterwards to see if Windows has logged the issue.

Click Start->in the search box at the bottom type: eventvwr -> hit enter -> Drop down Windows Logs -> Click system

Now on the right where the logs are scroll down to see if you can see any errors reported at the time of crash. Please post a screenshot if you find any warnings or red errors. Sounds like a driver issue.
