Doing Sapphire 7950 VaporX and 280x VaporX crossfire and wondering which one should be primary card for crossfire? I think 280x and then i should overclock the 7950 to even them out. Am i right?
Are you aware that the R9 280X is equivalent to the HD 7970, not to the HD 7950, that's the R9 280. So when you do the CF effectively you will have a CF of R9 280/HD 7950.
A little overclock makes up for that though . Well performance wise anyway. My xfire setup outperforms a 7990 at stock just by running 1050/1500mhz on both cards, which is rather easy for the 7900/r9 280 series cards.
You are right. The 280x should go first. This way if a game doesn't support xfire, you can disable it and use the more powerful card. And yes you should try to match the clocks.
