My main purpose of building this rig is video / photo / audio editing. I'm a very casual gamer.

My budget is around $1100 (i.e. 68000 Rupees), I stay in India. Here's my list:

Monitor: BenQ GW2255 60Hz 21.5" Monitor ($119.99 @ NCIX US)
Wireless Network Adapter: D-Link DWA-525 802.11g/n PCI Wi-Fi Adapter ($32.99 @ Amazon)

I am actually going for AOC E2270SWN 21.5 inches Full HD LED Monitor
I'll be using Win 8.1 Pro (x86)

kindly suggest me changes, if any, i'm very flexible about parts but my budget is restricted.

Thanks in advance. :)

I'm out. I saw your other thread where you had this Intel Devil's Canyon build. The money is way over your budget. At one point you told me to omit the OS from your build because you had one. Now I see it's back in your build.

I don't know if you plan to overclock since statistically only a small fraction of people (I saw numbers in the range of 25%) that has processors capable ov overclocking actually overclock their processors. Cooling and power supply options change dramatically.

If you omit the OS from the build I gave you you can still put the GTX 960 in and come out around your initial budget. Whatever you decide, good luck.
It's a great shame that PCPartPicker can't use Indian suppliers, since prices in India might be drastically different than US prices.

I'm not sure, but your nomenclature suggests you plan to use 32-bit Windows. Make sure you use a 64-bit OS or you will have a number of issues such as not being able to use all the memory.

The monitor is not anywhere close to what I'd recommend for any image work. It's color gamut is only 72%, it's not IPS and it looks as if the color depth is only 6-bit or at best interpolated 8-bit.

The same for your video card. I don't think it's the card that I'd recommend to a professional.

If it was me, I'd not get the card, rely on the integrated Graphics (which is sufficient for low-end work, and qualified by Adobe), and spend that money to upgrade to a better monitor.

You have a nice build.
Since youre going with the i7 4770K, I would recommend a Z87 motherboard, which might ave you some money.
Also, 2x4Gb of RAM is going to benefit from dual channel and give you better speeds.

This way maybe you can save some money and put it towards a slightly better GPU.

I was looking for a Cheaper mobo only but available models in Z87 series are more expensive as compared to the one i have chosen.

I will definitely go for ram upgrade and 64-bit os.

I am screwed up for the graphics as I really have this limited budgeand cannot exceed it even by a bit.

Pls suggest me a good monitor if possible.

Is gtx 660 a good gpu?
Thanks in advance.

This is what I'd do in your position. The monitor is 100% SRGB color gamut. https://www.asus.com/Monitors/PA238Q/

I totally agree with your configuration, my only concern in GPU and Monitor, As the monitor is highly out of my budget. What difference does 100% gamut make. Kindly help, I'm new to these terms.

The total amount of my build is substantially lower than yours - I spent the money where it is important - on the monitor and the color path. I even included the OS, which you did not and I'm still well under your budget.

Definition of color gamut

Start with what I configured, if you find that you have more money in a while, you can upgrade the GPU if you find that it's a performance bottleneck ( which I doubt it will be) for the type of work you suggest you want to do.

Actually i already have the OS. and are u sure that one can edit videos with onboard graphics?

What tool(s) will you be using? I'll check the requirements. In some instances a professional graphics card (not a gaming card) might be indicated.

You earlier indicated you had a 32-bit OS. If that is the case it won't work. You need a 64-bit OS to fully use 8GB of memory. The (x86) means 32-bit.

I have both the versions 32-bit as well as 64-bit. I will be using Vegas, Photoshop, After Effects & Quark Express.
