Ok so I use my galaxy S3 as usb tether(or portable hotspot) for my internet.
I want to play games with some friends using Tunngle.
To use Tunngle I have to open port 11155.
I downloaded an app on my S3 called port forwarder but I can't figure out how to go about using it.
Do I have to use a static IP and if so how do I go about changing it?
What way should I set up portforwarder(or a similar app) to allow me to use this specific port.
Is it even possible at all for me to do this using my phone or do I have to use a proper router.
Thanks for any help

Your phone is a modem if you run in tether mode...hotspot it is a router.

The first thing you need to do is on the phone check to see what ip address you have been given. It is likely a 10.x.x.x address which is a private address. This means there is a router in the ISP network doing NAT that you would have to put the port forwarder on which of course you can not do.

Pretty much if you run the phone in tether mode you should not need to port forward. And if you have tried it and the game does not work that is also a sign that the ISP is running NAT someplace in their network.

To do actual port forwarding when running in hotspot mode you need to root the phone. Last time I messed with this you could not even change the ip range it used for the hotspot.
