HI,

So I have the PC in my signature. I also have the M.2 Samsung xp941 256GB plugged in the Ultra slot (PCIe x 4 speed). But it does not show up anywhere, it is not being detected at all.

I was looking through the Motherboard manual and I noticed a 'PCIE_PWR1' slot, it appear to have a cap on it or something (there is nowhere to plug anything in). Do I need to plug in a power cable there? Is that why my M.2 is not showing up?

Solution
PCIe Power Connector
4-pin PCIE_PWR1
Please connect a 4 pin molex power cable to this connector when more than three graphics cards are installed.

Regarding the M.2 Samsung xp941 256GB that you are not using as a boot device. It seems you installed Windows 8 with no regard to the various Windows 8 security features. If you are using Windows 8.1/8 64-bit and all of your devices support UEFI, but you installed in Legacy mode with the CSM (Compatibility Support Module) enabled, you may have a problem running those devices that support UEFI option ROM only.

Ok, this is the most information I've had so far. Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I'm happy to detach the Samsung 850 EVO and then try rebooting from windows 8.1 (on a USB stick) and installing windows again. I'm sure I tried choosing the UEFI option, but could not see the M.2. I do not know what you mean by 'UEFI option ROM only'?
