I am entirely new to PC building, and am looking to make a gaming machine capable of casting to Twitch while playing higher-end games as well.

Approximate Purchase Date: Far Future, mainly looking for some initial advice on this one

Budget Range: $700-$1000, Before Rebates

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Twitch Broadcasting, and Gaming

Are you buying a monitor: No, I will be using my 32 Inch HD TV, HDMI inputs

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, I want advice on Windows 7 vs. 8, which will be better for gaming/casting?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Amazon.com, NewEgg.com

Location: Reno, NV, US

Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, Nvidia Chipset GPU, I am also looking into capture cards(for streaming ps4 game-play) so any recommendation would be welcome there as well.

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire:No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1080i

Additional Comments: Running OBS in conjunction with games like Skyrim, TF2, War-frame, etc. and high quality settings. I don't care too much about looks, but I like modern simplistic designs(Fav color is purple/black). Any advice for a first time PC builder is welcome! Thanks for your help!

And Most Importantly, Why Am I Building: I currently game and Cast on a laptop, its a super low quality situation, so i want to boost my abilities to play my favorite games.

This is a link to a list of parts that is a bit more expensive than what I'm looking for, but is similar to the build I want.

Solution
This should suit your needs just fine. The games you play are easy to max out and this should do it. In a year or so you can add an other gtx 960 and get a big performance boost.

Solution

Looks like a good build, also leaves room for him to pick a GTX 970 for better performance on high end games while still staying under the $1000 max budget.

Any recommendations on what OS to use? And what fans to buy for more cooling? Thanks for your help!
