I have a folder with some MKV files in and everytime I try to delete them or the folder containing them my Windows Explorer brings up a crash error saying Windows Explorer Has Stopped Working and it shuts down. I see the folder delete and when I go back into Documents the folder is back and the samething happens again when I try and delete it again. This all happened since I started using a new Blu-ray burner and I've had no problems before with MKV files when I used my old Blu-ray burning. My new one has messed something up in my PC.

Sometimes that Windows Explorer error happens as soon as I click on Documents. Then things changed to it only doing it when I enter the folder where the MKV files are and then it changed again to it doing it again followed by freezing my PC when I tried deleted the folder with MKV files and now it does it without freezing so far where the folder of MKV files seems to delete and it returns again where I can't delete it.

I tried using Regedit and Autoruns but I don't know what I'm looking for apart from something in Autoruns that is dated for the day and time when I first started using my burner and obviously nothing fixed. Please help me. I can't fix this problem and I'm worried sick about my data. I also tried Spybot Search & Destroy and Reg Clean Pro and they failed to fix things.

Thanks.

Is this only happening with those particular MKV files? I've experienced problems like that before... it turned out the videos files I had were corrupted and not only could I not access them.. but every time I tried to open the folder they were located in... it would case a crash... the only way was to delete them. You could try going up one level and deleting the folder... But not sure what you have inside there. You need to first determine if this is the cause of your problem... corrupted video files.
