I'm having issues with unstable FPS. It is anywhere from 94 to 1 and is really noticeable in Raids, Boss fight in instances and the Garrison. It becomes unplayable. My latency is 63/64.

My set up is custom built PC.

I have an intel mobo mounted in a case that I was starting to build for my son. My computer is only about 2 months old. I thought it was a video issue which is why I bought the new video card this week. I also bought a new psu of 1050 w, but I haven't put it in yet. One thing is I have an excellent case with a ton of fans and the temperatures are on the low end still in the green. I do notice that when my husband also gets on WoW that my problem increases and his computer does the same as mine.

Do you think if I connect directly to the router versus wireless that it might solve the problem. It wasn't that long ago that I was playing on an 4 year old computer and it was fine, but I was wired directly to the router versus the set up now.

I even added a second cable modem so now I have two accounts to get my parents who live with me on their own instead of the main system. I am just throwing money at this problem and I really can't spend any more at this juncture.

I am running the game on good. It's just very frustrating and I've never run into this problem before.

You still need to download and install MSI afterburner, and install the OSD to monitor the CPU and GPU temps. Even with a great case, temps can rise due to the HSF on the CPU or GPU. If those have installation issues, it won't matter what your case is like, they'll over heat.

Another issue could be you have virus scanners working at the same time as you are playing, or an automatic backup. Maybe even a virus itself.

I downloaded MSI afterburner. I forgot to enable the log though. I looked at it at the beginning of the night and it was 100 F. After I was done with High Maul it was 124F.

I did fine for the start of the raid. I was on Good and it was 60 FPS 63/64 latency. I started having problems when fighting Brackenspore. My FPS went down as low as 0.8. It was constantly going up and down. The first pull it was fine, but the second pull the game was unplayable. I had to exit and log in again.

Also, I changed the network I was on prior to raid. My Nighthawk router gives two channels 2.4 and 5.0. I was defaulted to 2.4, but changed to the 5.0. I also changed priority of WoW to highest.

I'm at a real loss to fix this problem. I've thrown money at it and nothing is working.

FPS has nothing to do with your internet connection, FPS is entirely local hardware/software related.

Also what kind of CPU did that 4 year old computer have? I'm curious if it was an Intel.

If the game WAS running fine, it could be a new patch broke something or a virus possibly infected your system.

Maybe you could create a new partition on your hard drive and try installing a clean copy of windows and just wow on it and see how it runs.

CPU/GPU temps are only "dangerous" if they get above 158 F / 70 C.

Is there any difference if you use the lowest graphics settings?

I'm not sure what my other pc was, but I want to say an AMD. That pc was built by a friend that I just gave money and said give me the best bang for buck.

This one I build myself. I have the MSI afterburner, but I'm not familiar with this software or how to set it up properly. I see where to find the GPU temp as it is on my right side of the screen, but I am at a loss as to finding the CPU temp on the machine. Right now the GPU temp is 39 Degree Celsius.

James, my game doesn't have as low of FPS on the lowest setting, but the problem I run into is I can't see the ground effects to get out of it even though DBM is warning me, I can't seem to find safety. lol

I'm going to work on checking for viruses and I'll probably create a new partition as you suggested. Thank you guys for trying to help. I'm sure it is annoying dealing with a person like myself who really doesn't know all the ends and outs of computers/software/networking. Thank you for your patience.

You need to download MSI Afterburner and the RivatunerStatisticsServer for monitoring stuff. Go to the monitoring tab in the settings and select GPU temp and CPU temps for all the cores and below that is a check box for "on screen display". Check that for each bit of info you want to see. Now launch the game and see what is going on with your temps for the CPU and GPU while the game is running. It will be higher than 39C, I can almost guaranty.

I went to the settings, but the only one that had a temp was the GPU. The CPU only has the choices of CPA 1-6 usage. The rivatuner has a 60 showing on a little screen. The temperature while in game is 39-41 degrees Celsius.

I did notice something though. My fps went down to 1 and I decided I had enough so I went to exit, but it wouldn't so I went to task manager and on the disk percentage it had 100% in red. When WoW was closed it went down to 4%.

Am I running out of RAM when running the game? I have 8gb maybe I need more?

The solution for me was to use selective start up and disable all non windows processes. Worked like a charm. I'm now playing on Ultra with fps of 60 in world and 40's on boss fights. :)
