Buying Windows 8 key only?

I am building a new computer and want windows 8.1. I already have an install disc, i just need a new product key. Is there anywhere that I can just buy a key? I don't want to have to wait a few days for the disc to come in the mail. I did some googling and couldn't find anything. Just wondering if someone knew of a way to do this. Thanks.

you should be able to buy a key through windows itself.

i have not done this on win 8 but have for win 7 and before. install windows but skip the key. when it starts asking for it, it will give the option to buy it and link to the store. they still sell win 8 so this should be an option to just get the key this way if they left it as an option for win 8.

Install on whatever hardware you want.
