Needing to determine if an unlocked HTC 8X will work on Straight Talk?

Hello all,
I am looking to buy my niece an HTC 8X Windows phone to use on Straight Talk and have it pick up on Verizon's towers. We really only have Verizon around here. I'm looking at one that is unlocked and says GSM and Verizon 4G CDMA. I called Straight Talk, but they really just wanted to get off the phone with me instead of answering my questions, so I obliged. Does anyone know if this phone, unlocked, can be used with the bring your own phone deal that Straight Talk has. It has to pick up on the Verizon towers or it's really useless. I just bought her an HTC 8S for Christmas, but it is GSM only and can only be used with T-Mobile or AT&T and there isn't enough signal around here for her to use it. I figured there would be someone on here that would know, and not mind filling me in.

I have never seen a solid answer about anything having to do with Straight Talk and Verizon.

Even if their website and sales people say you can use it, I have read many reports that when people tried to switch, their phone would not activate and they lost their phone # into the void and had to get a new one.

I'd just check with them which phones that they offer work on Verizon towers and get it from then rather than buy one on your own. They have a location in every WalMart I am pretty sure, so you should have something near you.

Hello facefox, My father- n- law and I have both just got a Verizon HTC x8 unlocked cell phone, have activated with straight talk. The only problem
we are having is the internet not working. I been with straight talk for years now. Have change the APN setting, it work for one day and now has stop
working, no internet. Verizon has a prepaid Sims card also for 50 dollar at Walmart. when my time run out on straight talk, I`m going that way .
