I recently upgraded from the fx 8350 to the i7 4790k
I have been using the H80i with my fx 8350 and have never had temps above 30 in idle. when i installed my new motherboard and h80i i booted it up and my idle temps have been between 30 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius on idle when i game the temps can reach over 80 and on some games my pc turns off and i get an error "Asus Anti Surge has been activated because of unstable power supply" I have been trying to fix this problem for about 2 weeks and i think it may be a power supply issue as i have a GTX 780 and 4790k and my power supply is only a vs650.
I would appreciate it if someone could confirm that i have and issue with my power supply or if its something else.
Thanks for the much needed help

you need to monitor temps and voltages... test again with hwinfo

These are 2 issues, I don't know if they could really be related.

Did you clean your h80i and put new thermal paste when setting it in your 4790k?

sorry I don't see anything odd... other than the chasis fans are full throttle. CPU temps look fine even if it reached 50 at some point, I'd like to think that 36-41° are the norm after some minutes... maybe it reached 50°C when you had 50% CPU usage? (according to max recorded usage at UC value)

Thank you for the response
I would be fine with those temps if my cpu did not reach 80 degrees at full load
my PC also always revs up and down which gets really annoying
Is there anything i can do to fix this? I also thought that the +12 voltages were a little below what they should be or is this fine?

Sorry, I'm sad to say that the back plate was not the issue as its quite tight.
I will maybe try going to a specialist
If you find anything wrong with my system please tell me
Thanks for the help
