Is this ssd for a laptop or desktop?

Real quick back story. I recently did some cable management on my desktop and my ssd from kingstom broke, to be specific the sata port broke along with all the pins on it. So now I installed windows on my hdd and I was looking to find another ssd from a local best buy. On the website they have this, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-optima-240gb-internal-serial-ata-iii-solid-state-drive-for-laptops-multi/8193026.p?id=1219315689843&skuId=8193026 The site specifices that it is meant for a laptop but doing a search on the model number and I found it on newegg and on that site it does not say a thing about it being just for laptops. Can I use this ssd on my desktop is the answer that I am looking for. I rather go to the store and buy it than online. Thanks for the help!

That SSD uses SATA3, which is used in both laptops and desktops. You can throw it in either.

SSDs are interchangeable between laptop and desktop (they fit both). The Pony SSD isn't a real great SSD (still faster than a HDD though) - I would spend a few more bucks on the Samsung 850 EVO - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147372&cm_re=samsung_evo-_-20-147-372-_-Product
