So I've just started having this weird issue. Performance in games shortly after turning my laptop on is just fine, but after a while, everything goes tits up and I'm hit by a performance drop of about 10 fps. I've monitored it using nvidia inspector and the only things that change after the drop are Memory Usage and Bus Usage. If I restart the computer, then the performance goes back to normal, only to drop back down a little while later. I play games constantly, and I would love to find a fix for it as soon as possible.

Solution
Sounds like the system is throttling back when it gets hot. You can try to check to see all the vent slots are clean. Is it used on a hard open surface?

Sometimes I do. Other times I set it on a desk, or if I'm playing with it on my lap, a book. I've already opened it up and cleared out a decent amount of dust, but I've only had it for a few months now, so I don't know if that is the problem. It's just a Fang Evo from cyberpowerpc. If you have any tips on cleaning out the dust, that would be greatly appreciated. I'll make sure to get back to you if any of them work or not.

It seems to be running fine so far. As a side not, is it normal for gpu usage to drop to zero for a split second every 30 minutes or so? It only seems to happen while I'm playing burnout paradise, a game which I can record at a solid 60fps with no problems.
