Will an HDMI to DVI converter cable work better than a normal AV cable for PS3?

Hi there, I have a 7 year old Sinotec 19 inch lcd tv and when i play on my ps3, i can barely read the words. No, the tv does not have an hdmi port, but my ps3 has. If i perhaps use an hdmi to dvi converter cable, will it give a better and clearer picture than a normal av cable?

If you mean an HDMI to VGA converter, then no. I believe you may be mistaken with your ports, as I have never seen a TV with a DVI port before. A VGA port (that's the blue one) is not an HD port and will most likely cause some problems with resolution in the conversion process. There could be some screen cutting around the edges and possibly even worse resolution than plain AV cables. I would say your best bet is to fork over the less than $100 it would cost to get a new slightly larger HDTV. Most of them have HDMI ports now and that is truly the best option for console gaming.
