i hv a sata 3,5 hard drive with installed win vista, from my old pc(that pc not working now) .i want to get all important data from that drive on my laptop.
Q:now how its possible to get data from that drive
.i hv baught some sata connector from ebay.the drive is showing in manage options.but can't open n also i cannot format it becoz of data.(also in my laptop for me there is not showing option for formatting that external drive).

I don't think that the 3.5'' drive will be powered even by 2 USBs. I would say that your options are either a docking station or 3.5'' HDD enclosure which requires external power supply as well.

Hi there amran mahmood,

After it is a 3.5 inch drive, you will need to get a docking station. The 3.5 inch drives could not be powered by USB cable only as the 2.5 inch ones.
After you attach it, you should see it as a normal drive and you can just transfer your data.
