Hello guys,

I've been wondering if I should get a 1440p monitor for gaming and watching movies in my room or 1080p monitor with 144hz.

Currently I have an old monitor, very buggy, like the screen flickers occasionally, very annoying while playing CS:GO. It's a 720p monitor.

Currently this my PC spec:
note: these prices are based in Netherlands and are today's prices.

I'm wondering about the AMD 3xx series, I'm waiting for them, if the prices are decent, I might upgrade near summer 2015.

So I'm not sure which to pick.

My question to you guys :

1) Which to pick? 1080p 144hz or 1440p ( no 144hz with 1440p, too expensive )
2) Which monitor do you recommend each of those ?

Also the games I play vary ( mostly rpg), but most of the time I'm playing CS:GO.
I also watch a lot movies, the distance to me and my monitor isn't that great, it's about a 1.5meter.

This is THE gaming sweetspot right now imo. You can sli later on, great overclocking, maxes out 1080p gaming, low noise and low power consumption system.

Neither. You wont be able to run games at either 144fps or 1440p with that system.
Get the cheapest 23 inch ips monitor, should be about 130 euros.
You don't need a soundcard unless you are serious about audio editing.
Fx 6300 should be about the same price as the 4350, grab that.

The higher the frame rate, the better it looks and it allows you to play even more precisely. I'm not saying It's necessary at all as Im content with 1080p@60fps.

It's the same thing with 1440p really, even if 1080p is enough you can have even more pixels!

If you play cs a bit more competitively than some people, the quality give some problems when you're looking at certain aspects in game. The extra settings can cause frame drops once in a while, which could result in death. It's nothing big to a person more casual, but if you're a person who gets irritated by stuff like that, you would probably want a higher stable frame per second.

As I said, I'm going to upgrade near summer 2015. So this is my build for now, I was wondering if I could run games with my current build.
Also the soundcard was a bit fail imo, my brother gave me this amazing logitech 5.1 stereo, but I had no optical ._.
My motherboard didn't support optical so I had to buy a soundcard, the cheapest I could find was the creative.
My price range for my new pc will be around 1600 euro including monitor within that price. I'm not going for another AMD cpu, I'll be going for Intel cpu amd gpu.

Yes, well I don't have any information about the broadwell cpu.

Something like this, what are your views of it?
Instead of the nvidia GPU, you could place one of the 3xx amd gpu.

Thing is broadwell isn't out yet but could be by summer. They will replace haswell cpus at the same price with about 10% improvement.
Amd 3xx aren't out yet either. If they are out, you should look at benchmarks.

Your build: get a cheaper psu, mobo and case.
I recommend the Define r4, Asrock extreme 3 and EVGA 750w b2 version.

Ok, lets say I got all of that, the one you recommended and the one I just listed.
Would you recommend the 1080p 144hz or 1440p ?

Could you recommend me a build ?
I'm wondering how your build will look like. Also if there's an RPG I would like to play with great graphics, I don't want my machine to have any problem.

This is far beyond compared to what you currently have.

I haven't included a graphics card because the prices REALLY differ in the Netherlands. From here you have a lot of options.
R9 280 (Ready for 1080p@60fps, can reach 144 fps in CS:GO)
*CANT GET THE LINK TO WORK*

R9 290 (High-end) (Consumes a lot of power)

GTX 970 (High-end) (Power efficient)

The price for the R9 290 is fantastic (260 euro).

Your build looks okay, I see no reason for me to upgrade to a 280 though, since I already own 270x. Also you forgot to post a case, and an SSD. I'm looking for a strong build that can handle ultra on 1080p or 1440p.
Also I'd rather wait for the 3xx series, maybe the 390 won't be that expensive (?)

I'm going to sell my computer, so I'd like to build a computer from scratch. My budget is 1600euro inc monitor price. Although i'd like it to be around 1300 euro.
Thanks for the fast reply.

I've changed some parts because the weren't available in my country, I also chose a 1080p 144hz monitor.

Could you do a last check if the replaced components are correct ?
