The racing wheel is a Thrustmaster 458 italia wheel and is supposedly plug and play.(already tried using xbox controller drivers)
I have been spending alot of time trying to get my racing wheel to work, its designed for xbox 360 and works on pc, i know it works because i have tested it on my old pc and it worked fine. Now i have done everything installing xbox 360 controller driver, uninstalling it, reinstalling it, i even reset the usb hubs and applied all optional windows updates, now does anyone have any idea as to how to get this thing running. By the way whenever i try to install it, it just says no driver has been found.

Does anything show up when you go into Device Manager? You see a yellow icon? I would try uninstalling the driver from there... then restarting your computer and plugging in the device into your computer again and seeing if it installs properly.

yes, they sent me this in an email and it worked for me, - Right click on the unknown device that shows a problem (e.g. the gamepad).

- Select Update Driver Software > Browse My computer for Driver Software > Let Me Pick from a List of Drivers

- Now 2 situations can occur:

A. First situation - if this happens, choose "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" (version 2006), ignore any warnings and validate the driver installation.

B. Second situation - if this happens, select "Microsoft" in the left pane and then "Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class" in the right one, ignore any warnings and validate the driver installation.
