my sims 3 keeps crashing but i dont have mods or custom content

I love playing sims 3 bit when I play one family it crashes down when I try to build their house or even move them . I think the problem is that there are 6 people in the household but I don't know and it's frustrating me so please help! I don't have custom content or mods or any downloads
