I'm looking to upgrade my home network with some new equipment, starting with the modem.
TopTenREVIEWS rated the Motorola SB6121 SURFboard as 2014's best cable modem. I like that it's DOCSIS 3.0 compliant, a standalone modem (as opposed to a modem/router mashup) and that the reviews on Amazon are really high.
A few things to get out the way:
(1) I purchase the 50 mb plan from my ISP (Mediacom)
(2) I've already confirmed that it'll be compliant with my ISP (Mediacom)
(3) I intend to pair this with a separate standalone (gigabit) router, yet to be determined
Is anyone aware of any flaws with this modem? Does anyone have a better recommendation? I don't mind spending a little more if its for a good reason.
Thank you!
