I have a gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2 motherboard, and a atx-tl500w-bk power supply. Currently I'm running a GeForce GT 610. I'm curious as to if my computer has enough power to support a GeForce GTX 970, or GeForce GTX 790. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
If you're keeping your 500w power supply, the gtx750, gtx760. The new gtx960 looks good. Upgrade ps and go gtx970. Even so, if you don't go worth the 970, id still upgrade to at least a 600 watt.

Depends. 500w is decent, and NVIDIA cards like the 970 don't need huge PS. NVIDIA recommends 500W as a minimum for a stock card (no overclock on RAM or chip). To be safe, I'd go with 600 watts for headroom.

So what card would you recommend?

Haha I appreciate the concern, thank you. But all I have worth protecting on my PC is games.

Alright thanks for all your help. Do you think a 600w PS would be acceptable.
