Best overall PC Gaming headset. Which will provide all I'm looking for?

Currently, the set that lays on top of my head is the now-broken Sony Pulse Elite (Link for specs here):

It recently broke at the ear cuffs, quickly ushering opinions like "design flaw" to mind. Regardless, I will not be reinvesting into another pair, but am looking for a more modern, top shelf set to invest in.

I am looking for true HQ surround sound, with excellent high and lows so I can enjoy music to it's fullest. But at no sacrifice to mic quality. As well as the ability to record game play with commentary. Primarily focused on immense immersion though. I need to feel every sound music possesses, as well as pin-pointing footsteps from an enemy player. Looking for crystal clear everything.

I checked out the Earforce Z60 ( http://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force-Headphone/dp/B00I0S7JH6/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1422136537&sr=1-1&keywords=earforce+z60 ), but reviewers have mentioned it's high tones are lackluster, a problem for a frequent EDM listener such as myself. However, the bass was outrageously good, due to the 60mm speakers. For some, even too much. Which can be a good thing, because I also listen to a shit ton of hard rock and metal (+all subgenre). So that bass is fully welcomed. But are the high tones truly that bad?

If anyone knows, by fact over assumption/theory, which headset would be a smart purchase in this new year of 2015? I'm looking for suggestions by personal experience, or new market headsets that have people super excited, I'm a bit out of the loop.

My budget is 200 or so, could be more if absolutely needed. So what do you guys think are the top-shelf sets, without needing to dump 300+ bucks on it.

I have heard of that headset, and while it is well reviewed for it's price range, I am actually looking to have a headset better than it. I'm less about budget headset, and more about the best I can get for a larger chunk of money.

Highly reviewed, great build quality, reputable company. Me like! Haha, I have a friend who records in studio using audio-technica equipment, so I'm surprised I didn't think of this before. Literally the only downside, is in inspection, I don't see any mic? I could always buy one separately, but that does discourage me slightly. It's 10/10 for all music listening needs, but I do play competitively in games, so communicating to my team mates is also important. Hmm. So far this is the best recommendation though, I am deeply appreciative.

If that's how it is, it looks like those ATH-M50x are part of my Destiny. : ) I suppose a separate mic for recording/communicating wouldn't be the end of the world. As long as it means total quality for sound immersion, I'm cool with it. :p

Admirable
Only thing I miss with this audio technica headphones is 7.1, it does make some games amazingly immersive. Otherwise, the sound quality they deliver is very good.
BTW: when you buy 200 dollar headphones you should start looking into a sound card, they will be limited by the motherboard's integrated one.
