motherboard and processor compatibility

I have been looking into getting a MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97 GAMING 7 and i was wondering if a intel(R) Core(TM)2 duo E8500 will be a compatible processor for it. If not then how can i tell what processor is compatible?

No the e8500 is not compatible. What you need to look for is the LGA socket type. THe board you are looking at is an LGA ( Land Graph Array) Socket 1150. THe E8500 is an LGA socket 775. You need to look for a CPU that is an LGA 1150 to be compatible with that board.
