Hey Gang,

I'm on the fence about upgrading to the X-99 Chipset MB's. LGA 2011-v3

Can anyone tell if the ASUS ROG RAIDR Express PCI-E 240GB PCIe 2.0 x 2 MLC Internal Solid
State Drive (SSD)

Will work on any X-99 Platform? I'm looking at the ASUSX-99 Deluxe, X-99 Rampage IV, or the Asus X-99 E-WS MB's. All LGA 2011-v3

Also, I saw somewhere that if you SLI with 2 cards, the Sata Express port will be Blocked? Or Killed is what I read but can't find it now grrrr Found it!!! Does anyone know what this is all about?
I'm not a noob, but I can't see where it will be blocked? It's late,& I can't read anymore.

Any help would be Greatly Appreciated!!!

Thanks

You won't have an issue with the ROG RAIDr. It's one of the best developed PCIe drives on the market. There is a switch on the back for setting the drive to legacy or UEFI BIOS mode so it's compatible with a wide range of motherboards.

The issues you are talking about with PCIe based SSDs go away on the X99 platform. The issue is for consumer chipsets, Z87 and Z97. X99 has more PCIe lanes available but you will want to try out different slots to find the highest bandwidth. Even on the same motherboard, each slot can vary quite a bit.

Thanks for getting back to me on this question!!!! I Rea;;y Appreciate it Very Much!!!
I know this had to work in a Pcie3/2.0 Slot x4. S I heuess 'll jave to check out the MB's specs that I choose. Tight now I'm looking at the ASUS X-99 Deluxe, or the ASUS X-00 E-WE MB. I'll have to go through the specs on each board.

One thing I did notice, is that if you use a 2 Vid Card setup, you may Lose the SAEA Express port. I have a link so you can see what I mean............Here it is , i's in the second paragraph

It's kind of hard to see what they are talking about.
I guess you can imagine how much reading about what is and is not compat with the newer X-99's.

Your answer is Reassuring and I Really want to Thank You Again!!!!!
Sincerely,
Lefty/Joe
