Macbook air 2014 for basic video editing

Solution
I have a MacBook Air 11" Early 2014 and I have recorded things no problem. No lag or FPS drop but it may depend on your software. My advice though is to have an external monitor or something to AirPlay to because it works better as a recording setup if you have an external display. If you have money to spend on your software, probably go for something like Camtasia 2 but if you're going down the free route, OBS is your best bet. iMovie is great for editing (it's free from Apple) and while it takes a little while to finish up (10-15 min) it comes out really well.
