Guys, need some experience here: I disassembled my computer completely yesterday to remove all of the dust from the case/components, then reassembled, only deviating from prior configuration by adding one HDD (for a total of 1 SSD, 2HDD) and an additional video card (for a total of 2.) Now I cannot get the MSI board to see the HDDs or DVD drive!

I've tried moving the drives around on the SATA slots, rearranging all of the cables (power and sata), and unplugging various drives to no avail. It will always see the SSD, regardless of slot or cable, so I believe this has eliminated the SATA slots on the motherboard, the SATA cables, and the power cables as issues.

Both the HDD and DVD drives functioned perfectly with the SSD prior to disassembly.

This is the motherboard in question: http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z77AG45.html#hero-overview

Any ideas?? All of my data is on the E drive, so I'm sort of stuck until I get this sorted...

TIA

Crap, just realized what happened: I substituted a SATA power cable from another PSU - and plugged the SATA devices into the PCI-E port.

I have the correct cables on now, plugged into the SATA ports on the PSU, and after replacing the DVD drive with another unit, it functions and appears.

HAve I destroyed my HDDs? I hope not, one is a 1TB, with all of my photos, music, work documents, CAD/Inventor files, Graphic Design, etc. on it!
